  • What is the overall quality of material presentation?

Attractive, well-produced DVDs and handbooks. Clear font, lovely white paper! Fairly straight-forward monologue-style videos for both Pippa's teaching, and the life stories.

How clear are its aims and outcomes?

LIVE: Very clear aim of helping people engage with and respond to the central story and claims of Christianity. Aims also given for each Bible Study, main theme presentation and between-session readings.

GROW: Engaging with some of the foundational implications of living the Christian life.

KNOW: Exploring 'the central beliefs of the Christian faith and how they make sense of our world and our lives.'

How accessible are the leader's notes?

Leader's guides available through website download. Refreshing group-leading guidelines. Very helpful icons and timings throughout. Crystal clear presentation of material. Choice to use DVD/online video introductions to the theme, or just dive straight into the material. Choice of 'Life Stories' too (summarised in Leader's Guide). Mix of biblical material and application, including suggested prayers, reflective questions and discussion. Looks easy to follow.

    Who could lead it?

A confident Christian who has sensitivity to enquirers and new Christians. Could be lead easily by a small group leader for growing Christians.

How helpful are the participant's resources?

Life stories engage with common questions and stumbling blocks to Christian faith. Attractive participant's booklet with all the input material, historical context where appropriate, space for making notes, and helpful icons. Further reading suggestions.

How good is any digital material?

Pippa is a gifted communicator and the simple style works well. She presents the material while sitting on a sofa. Life Stories appear a little static but content should be relevant to many listeners.

How much prep will I have to do?

A read-through recommended, plus choices to make re videos. Shouldn't take too long though.

    Is there website support? Links?

Website via code on DVD. Downloadable material, endorsements, promo material etc.

    Is it dated?

    No. KNOW released July 2105.

  • How well does it encourage interaction with the group?

Discussion around the Bible study, theme and implications, and prayer together.

How well does it cater for a variety of both learning and delivery styles?

Mix of reading, watching, discussing and listening. No hands-on.

How adaptable is it to my situation?

Should suit a wide variety of people who are prepared to concentrate; a comfort break would be good as lots to take in and respond to.

How well does it encourage people to work together in applying the material?

See above – discussion-based resource. Focused on thinking things through rather than action. Extra 'Going deeper' material provided to read and think through between sessions, some with questions for reflection.

  • How much of the material is Bible-based?

Around half the material is Bible-based. Thoughts and themes all backed-up with biblical references.

How well is the biblical material presented and used?

Straight-forward group Bible study on theme-related passage for each session. Good questions though which should encourage discussion and though; particularly searching ones in GROW. Historical context included. Really clear and thorough - lots to work and think through.

How well does it apply biblical material to everyday life?

LIVE: Aimed at building foundations of faith. GROW: Explores the application of biblical material to the challenges of life, and thinking the implications through. 'Going deeper' information section included. KNOW: Application of biblical material to relevant and foundational issues such as identity, work, why sin makes sense of our lives and how the world is.

Is there a particular theological perspective?

    Strongly Evangelical perspective.

  • How well does it inspire people towards whole-life discipleship?

LIVE: This is unashamedly aimed at communicating the basics of the gospel and giving people a chance to respond. GROW: Focused on identity and purpose as a Christian. KNOW stretches our understanding of the created world, the implications of sin and the end of things as defined by Jesus' return.

How well does it encourage and enable people to grow in their faith?

Very clear communication of above. Good questions which dig into the subject. Common objections and assumptions about the subjects are tackled. Potential for creating and reinforcing a thorough and thought-through foundation for faith.

How well does it stretch faith and vision of God and his purposes?

LIVE: This will be new material for many participants. Clearly explained. GROW material builds on this, and explores implications for living as a Christian. KNOW looks more at the implications of the central Christian doctrines of creation, sin and redemption through Jesus. Some material will be demanding to think through, but presentation is very good.

How well does it connect with real life issues?

Aimed at connecting with stumbling blocks to faith rather than day-to-day challenges. GROW is more grounded in daily challenges of living as a Christian, and understanding what that means in spiritual and practical terms. KNOW engages with the implications of a created universe for the way we approach and understand the world.

  • How well does it encourage personal evangelism?

Not a focus in LIVE. This is for enquirers. GROW finishes with a focus on learning how to tell your story to others. Emphasis in KNOW that the created order is based on love, and that love is the foundation for everything. Our relating to others should also therefore be based on the same.

How well does it encourage local or network-based community involvement?

Not a large focus but church membership encouraged.

How well does it connect with global issues?

Not a focus – see above. KNOW engages with the implications of creation for both being human and the meaning of the world.

How well does it encourage global mission?

Not a focus – see above. Implied in the exploration of the meaning of the coming, death, resurrection and return of Jesus.
